Our Gift to You
Before the county approved my plea for a building permit, I was bellied up to the bar at The Muk Cafe, drinking amazing coffee with Gary Smith (co-owner of the Mukilteo Coffee Co with his amazing wife, Beth). It was there that I approved the final architectural design of the house, there where I took my then two year old Hana when the rains drove us away from hand-tying each piece of the rebar foundation on which the house now sits, and it was there where Gary and I decided to create the perfect blend of coffee that you now enjoy while at the house. Gary sent me home with a variety of small-batch beans from over around the world, and I then chose three for The Kingfisher Blend. Gary, Beth, and now their boys produce some of the finest coffees I have ever had.
It was through our partnership with Holly at Edit, the unbelievably cool shop on First Street in Langley, that I heard about the Seattle based company, Miir. A few clicks on their website and it was apparent to me that I needed to work with this business. The clean-lined, beautiful styling of their products, coupled with their philosophy of being sustainable and giving back, made this an easy choice. Keeping with the coffee theme in our welcome gift, I felt the Miir 360 Tumbler was the perfect place to show off the logo that my niece, Bethany, created for us.
We hope that you enjoy this Bread Dipper Sampler from Walden Lane Gourmet. With a store front on 1st Ave, in Langley, this shop is a must visit. Swing by and please tell them hi from us at The Kingfisher!
